Romney-Ryan: America’s Comeback Team

On Saturday, Mitt Romney made his long-awaited vice presidential announcement in Norfolk, Virginia. His choice was Rep. Paul Ryan.

Romney made a clear statement by choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate. He is a conservative, and his experience in dealing with the economy reinforces Romney’s private sector experience. Ryan is very articulate, and he knows what he’s talking about. In many ways, this was the perfect candidate to stir up the conservative base.

In his acceptance speech in North Carolina, Ryan said that he was “committed in mind and heart” to this task. He quoted his father. “He’d say `Son, you’re either part of the problem or part of the solution.’ Regrettably President Obama has become part of the problem and Mitt Romney is the solution.” On Sunday, the two went to Wisconsin and gave speeches to a fired-up crowd. This choice was a risky one, but it no doubt helped the campaign so far. Hopefully, Congressman Ryan will add much to the campaign by November.

I just want to see Ryan slam Biden in the Vice Presidential debate. Ryan was not in the least the safe pick, but rather the bold pick. And that makes all the difference in politics.
