London Olympics 2012: Day 4

Today was a big day for the Team USA Women’s Gymnastics team, as they win gold. They had an amazing performance on all of the challenges, including vaults, balance beam, and uneven bars. The “Fab-5”, including super-vaulter McKayla Maroney slammed Team Russia in the final rotation, snagging the gold on the floor right after two disastrous performances by the Russians broke them into tears.

Michael Phelps does the unthinkable, and wins another gold, in the 4x200meter freestyle relay. He is now the most decorated and successful Olympian of all time, having 15 gold medals, 2 silvers, and 2 bronzes.

Chinese teen sensation Ye Shiwen was questioned for doping. She recently broke the world record in the 400 individual medley, and broke her own record to take the 200 IM, claiming two gold medals. The head of the American Swimming Coaches Association was suspicious, but the Olympic organizers defended her, and Shiwen said:’Absolutely not’.
