On Wednesday afternoon, in former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich officially ended his run for presidency. “Today I’m suspending the campaign, but suspending the campaign doesn’t mean suspending citizenship. Callista and I are committed to being active citizens,” said Gingrich in a speech delivered to supporters in Arlington, Virginia who had already known the news for the past week.
This has undoubtedly been a rough and rocky campaign for Gingrich, having been written off the books at least twice and being in a distant third right before Rick Santorum suspended his campaign. During his speech, he didn’t say anything about endorsing Romney – just like Santorum – but you can bet on him backing Romney sometime in the next few weeks. He promised that we would see him again.
